Cancellations, refunds, and billing-error fixes
Two-line summary, then the details. Cancel any subscription from your account in two clicks — Pro keeps working until the period ends, then your card stops. If we ever mess up the billing, we refund it. Paddle is Karanite's Merchant of Record and handles the money; Karanite handles the entitlement and the review.
1. Summary
- Karanite offers free and paid access. Paid products: Pro Monthly — $4.99/month USD; Pro 6-Month — $22.99 every 6 months USD; Pro Yearly — $39.99/year USD; Event Pass — $2.99 USD for 7 days; Founder Host — $19.99/year USD for the first 100 hosts, subject to availability.
- All payments are processed by Paddle, Karanite's Merchant of Record.
- You can cancel recurring subscriptions from your account billing page. Cancellation stops future renewals, but access continues until the end of the current paid period.
2. Paddle as Merchant of Record
- Karanite uses Paddle as Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment processing, local currency display, VAT / GST / sales tax / similar taxes, invoices and receipts, payment disputes, tax remittance, payment-related compliance, and approved refund processing.
- Karanite does not store full card numbers, complete billing addresses, or bank details.
- Karanite receives only entitlement-related information — product name, plan, transaction ID, subscription status, billing period, cancellation status.
3. Prices and taxes
- Karanite displays prices in USD. Paddle may show your local currency, applicable taxes, and the final checkout amount before payment.
- The final amount shown at checkout by Paddle is the amount you authorise for payment.
- For recurring plans, Paddle checkout or Karanite's pre-checkout consent flow will identify the billing interval before payment.
4. Recurring subscriptions
- The following products are recurring subscriptions: Pro Monthly, Pro 6-Month, Pro Yearly, and Founder Host.
- Recurring subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. By purchasing a recurring subscription, you authorise recurring charges at the selected billing interval.
- You can cancel from your Karanite account billing page. Cancellation stops future charges. Your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period unless otherwise required by law.
5. Pro Host billing
- Pro Monthly costs $4.99/month USD and renews monthly until cancelled.
- Pro 6-Month costs $22.99 USD every 6 months and renews every 6 months until cancelled.
- Pro Yearly costs $39.99/year USD and renews yearly until cancelled.
6. Founder Host billing
- Founder Host is a limited launch subscription for the first 100 hosts, subject to availability. Founder Host costs $19.99/year USD.
- Founder Host is an annual recurring subscription — NOT a one-time purchase and NOT a lifetime purchase.
- Founder Host renews at $19.99/year for the first 12 months. At the year-two renewal, Founder Host may revert to the standard Pro Yearly price of $39.99/year unless Karanite extends the lock-in or provides different renewal terms.
- If you cancel Founder Host, you may lose the locked-in $19.99/year rate. Re-subscribing later may require paying the then-current Pro Yearly price if Founder Host spots are no longer available.
- Founder Host cancellation follows the same cancellation rules as Pro Yearly: cancellation stops future renewal, and access continues until the end of the current paid period.
7. Event Pass billing
- Event Pass costs $2.99 USD and provides 7 days of Pro access. Event Pass is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Event Pass does not auto-renew.
- The 7-day access period starts immediately when payment succeeds.
- Because access starts immediately and is consumed over a short fixed period, Event Pass purchases are generally non-refundable once activated, except where required by law or where there is a billing error, duplicate charge, failed activation, or Karanite-side service failure.
8. Immediate access and EU withdrawal rights
- Karanite paid products provide digital access. Where required by law, including in the EU, consumers may have a 14-day withdrawal right for certain digital purchases.
- At checkout, Karanite asks you to confirm immediate access and acknowledge that once access begins, you may lose the 14-day withdrawal right to the extent permitted by law. This applies to Pro Monthly, Pro 6-Month, Pro Yearly, Founder Host, and Event Pass.
- If you do not agree to immediate access terms, you should not complete the purchase.
- Billing errors, duplicate charges, failed activations, and charges after valid cancellation remain eligible for review regardless of the immediate-access waiver.
9. Cancellation
- You can cancel recurring subscriptions from your Karanite account billing page. Cancellation means: future renewals stop; your current paid period remains active until its end date; your account returns to the Free tier after the paid period expires; your data remains subject to the Privacy Policy; your custom packs, battle history, and host data may remain on the account, but Free-tier limits may apply; cancelling Founder Host may cause you to lose the locked-in Founder rate.
- Karanite does not require you to email support to cancel a subscription if the account billing page is available.
- If account billing is unavailable because of a technical issue, contact legal@karanite.com or support@karanite.com with subject Refund: or Billing:.
10. When Karanite refunds
- Karanite will generally approve refunds for: duplicate charges; billing errors; charges after valid cancellation; charges on an account already deleted before renewal; failed activation where access was not delivered; Karanite-side service failure that prevents use of a paid product for more than 24 hours; cases where applicable law requires a refund.
- Karanite may request enough information to locate the transaction, such as account email, approximate charge date, plan, and Paddle receipt or transaction ID.
11. When Karanite generally does not refund
- Karanite generally does not refund: subscription periods already used; partial months, partial 6-month periods, or partial years after access has started; Event Pass purchases after activation, except for the cases listed in Section 10; refunds requested only because the user forgot to cancel before renewal; Founder Host cancellations after access begins, except where required by law or due to billing error; purchases where the user violated the Terms and was suspended for serious abuse; currency conversion differences, bank fees, or card issuer charges outside Karanite's control.
- This does not limit rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law.
12. Service failure credits
- If Karanite has a Karanite-side outage or paid-feature failure lasting more than 24 hours, affected paid users may request review.
- At Karanite's discretion, the remedy may be: refund; account credit; extension of paid access; Event Pass extension; or other reasonable correction.
- Provider-wide issues, browser or device issues, user network failures, or third-party platform outages may be handled case by case.
13. Suspensions and refunds
- If your account is suspended or terminated for serious or repeated Terms violations, paid time on that account may be forfeited. Examples include: doxxing; harassment; illegal content; malware or phishing links; deliberate abuse of rooms or infrastructure; payment fraud; chargeback abuse; uploading or submitting infringing content; repeated moderation violations.
- If Karanite suspended you because of a mistake, Karanite may restore access, extend paid time, or issue a refund where appropriate.
14. Account deletion and billing
- Deleting your Karanite account may cancel active subscriptions, depending on the billing state and Paddle integration.
- If you want to stop future charges, use the account billing cancellation flow before deleting your account.
- If you believe you were charged after deleting your account, contact Karanite with subject Refund:.
- Paddle may retain billing records for tax, fraud, compliance, and legal obligations even after Karanite account deletion.
15. Chargebacks and payment disputes
- Please contact Karanite before starting a card chargeback. Email legal@karanite.com with subject Refund: or Billing:. Direct refunds are usually faster than chargebacks.
- Chargebacks may temporarily affect your Karanite account, subscription status, or future payment eligibility while Paddle reviews the dispute.
- Karanite may suspend access where payment is reversed, disputed, fraudulent, or unresolved.
16. How to request a refund
- To request a refund or billing correction, email legal@karanite.com with subject Refund:. Include: email address on your Karanite account; Paddle receipt or transaction ID if available; approximate charge date; plan purchased; reason for the refund request; any screenshots or error details if access failed.
- Karanite aims to acknowledge refund requests within 2 business days and resolve them within 2-5 business days where possible.
- Approved refunds are processed through Paddle and may take 5-10 business days to appear depending on your payment method, bank, or card issuer.
17. Plan changes and price changes
- Karanite may change plan prices, features, limits, or billing intervals. If pricing changes affect an active recurring subscription, Karanite or Paddle will provide notice where required by law.
- Existing subscribers generally keep their current paid access until the end of the current billing period.
- Founder Host pricing is limited and may revert to standard Pro Yearly pricing at year-two renewal unless Karanite extends the lock-in.
