Report unsafe, illegal, or infringing content on Karanite
This page is the single contact path for: copyright complaints (DMCA, US safe-harbor structure), illegal content reports under the EU Digital Services Act, doxxing or harassment reports, and anything else that breaks Karanite's rules in a way that needs urgent attention.
1. Copyright complaints (DMCA)
Karanite respects intellectual property rights. If you believe content on Karanite infringes your copyright, please send a notice to our designated copyright agent at legal@karanite.com with subject prefix DMCA: and include the information required under the DMCA:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material — specifically, the room code, replay URL, tournament, profile, or other location on Karanite where it appears.
- Your contact information: name, email, postal address, telephone number.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
We will act expeditiously on notices that include the information above, and we will notify the person who submitted the affected content where their contact information is available. A counter-notice option is available if you believe content was removed in error; email us with subject DMCA Counter-Notice: for the procedure.
Karanite's designated copyright agent is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office under Agent ID DMCA-1073254, effective May 24, 2026. The public registration record is available in the DMCA Designated Agent Directory.
2. Illegal content reports (EU Digital Services Act)
To report illegal, harmful, abusive, or unsafe content, including doxxing, harassment, hate speech, malware links, illegal commercial scams, or other unlawful user-submitted content, contact legal@karanite.com with subject prefix Report: and include:
- The room, replay, profile, tournament, user, URL, or specific piece of content you are reporting.
- The reason — which law you believe the content breaks, or which Karanite rule it violates.
- Your contact details if you would like a response (anonymous reports are accepted but cannot be acknowledged).
- A statement that the report is made in good faith and that the information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
Reports are reviewed by a Karanite moderator. Content found to violate Karanite's rules or applicable law will be hidden or removed; the affected account may be suspended. We aim to act on clear illegal-content reports within two business days; complex cases take longer.
3. Doxxing, harassment, and personal-data exposure
Doxxing — posting another person's private information (real names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, workplace, location, account identifiers, or other identifying details without consent) — is prohibited on Karanite regardless of jurisdiction. The same goes for direct harassment, threats, or impersonation.
Report these with subject prefix Abuse: to legal@karanite.com. Include the affected room/profile/replay and what was posted. We treat doxxing as urgent: in clear cases we hide the offending content first and investigate after, then suspend repeat or serious violators.
4. Repeat infringer policy
Karanite may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these rules or repeatedly submit infringing, abusive, illegal, or harmful content. “Repeated” is judged in context — three confirmed violations of the same kind in a 12-month window is a typical threshold, but severe single incidents (doxxing, illegal content targeting minors, clear hate-speech harassment) can trigger immediate termination.
5. Minor-safety reports
Karanite is intended for users aged 16 and older. Content that sexualises, exploits, or endangers minors — anywhere on Karanite — must be reported immediately to legal@karanite.com with subject prefix Minor:. We treat minor-safety reports as the highest urgency: clear cases are hidden first and investigated after, the responsible account is suspended pending review, and where required by law the report is escalated to the relevant authority.
Parents or guardians who believe a user below the required age has created a Karanite account may also use the Minor: subject prefix to request account review or deletion under the Privacy Policy.
6. Unsafe links, phishing, malware, and scams
Room names, profile fields, tournament settings, and host-configured Discord / Twitch URLs may not be used to distribute malware, phishing pages, credential-theft forms, account-stealing scams, fake giveaways, or other unsafe destinations. Report unsafe links to legal@karanite.com with subject prefix Report: and include the specific URL plus the room / replay / profile where it appears.
Karanite removes unsafe links quickly once confirmed and may suspend the responsible account. We do not require a formal DMCA notice for unsafe-link reports — a clear description and the URL is enough.
7. Trademark and publisher-rights concerns
If you represent a game publisher or trademark holder and you believe Karanite content misuses your marks, your artwork, or your protected material, contact legal@karanite.com with subject prefix Trademark:. Include the specific mark or asset, where it appears on Karanite, and the basis of your claim.
Karanite's independent, unofficial status and the per-publisher notices we maintain are documented at /legal/trademarks. We add or update notices on that page as part of our response to trademark concerns where appropriate.
8. What happens after you submit a report
- Acknowledgement — within two business days for urgent reports (doxxing, immediate harm, clear DMCA notices), within five business days for routine reports.
- Review — a Karanite moderator looks at the reported content against the relevant policy and law. In clear cases we act first and confirm after; in ambiguous cases we ask for more information.
- Action — content found to violate the rules is hidden or removed; the affected account may be warned, suspended, or terminated depending on severity and history.
- Audit log — every report and action is recorded internally with timestamps. Removed content is retained in a non-public state to support investigation and appeals; it is not hard-deleted unless legally required.
- Appeal — if your content was removed and you believe the decision was wrong, reply to the notification email with your explanation. We re-review with fresh eyes.
9. Abuse of the report system
The report channel is for genuine safety, legal, and rights concerns. Filing knowingly false DMCA notices, spamming reports to harass a particular user, or trying to silence legitimate criticism via the takedown flow are themselves violations of Karanite's Terms.
Karanite may decline to act on reports that appear to be in bad faith, restrict the reporting account's access to the report channel, or — for serious cases — suspend the reporting account. False DMCA notices in particular may also create civil liability for the sender under U.S. law (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).
